As we are releasing NYMPH’s debut album this month, we thought it might be fitting to expose our people to the kind of heroic live sets that NYMPH has been unleashing over the past few years.

In February of 2010, we released a 2xLP set from the downtown NYC outfit Interference. The set compiled an released record from 1983 with an additional six track LP of remixes from this century. To celebrate this bands music for the 18th installment of our podcast series, we are offering up a rare glimpse of the band by way of a live set from CBGB’s transfered from a cassette recording by the band’s drummer David Linton. This is one of, maybe, two live recordings of this band in known existence so let’s consider this a special occasion.

For our 17th installment we present to you Zs performing the title track from New Slaves from a festival in Germany.

For our 16th installment we bring you a short set from Sam Hillmer from the Zs solo project Regattas. This was from a Tonic/Social Registry night we did which included Mira Billotte (White Magic) and Carter Maness. A very heavy evening.

Our 15th Podcast commemorates a Gang Gang Dance show at Southpaw, a small club in Park Slope Brooklyn from April of 2008 as the band had just finished up the recording of St. Dymphna. Incredible performance coupled with a great recording and some serious time mastering makes this one a highlight from the series.

Our 14th edition comes to you on the eve of the release of the new Psychic Ills record entitled Mirror Eye. We present to you a full set from last week’s performance at Glasslands – a Brooklyn performance space.

The thirteenth addition of the legendary podcast series serves as a preview of coming attractions for tomorrow night’s CMJ showcase at Santo’s Party House in downtown NYC. Here, Sian Alice Group rips up a beautiful set at the studios of KXLU. With a great band and a great station, what more do you need?

The 12th podcast in our series is another stellar entry from Growing. Recorded at the Swiss Institute in New York on 03/22/08, this set showcases material from Lateral (released earlier this year) and All The Way – the band’s new full-length jam coming out on The Social Registry on September 9, 2008. As usual, the jams seamlessly wash into one another for a head-on conceptual listening experience. Enjoy!

Jäh Division: Performing live at the 2006 TSR CMJ Showcase at the now defunct venue Tonic in NYC. On this particular evening Jäh Division was made up of the core 4: Brad Truax, Barry London, Chris Millstein and Kid Millions with augmented membership from Mike Bones on guitar, Sleepy Doug Shaw on vocals (White Magic) and Ben Maddox (brother of the late GGD member Nathan Maddox) on additional drums.
